Custom Phase Pattern

The custom phase code modulation applies a user-provided phase pattern to the pulse. The user phase code is entered into a table and is assumed to be in degrees. Complex polyphase patterns can be generated with MatLab or other tools.

To add steps (index items) to the table:

  1. Select Custom Phase Pattern from the Modulation Type drop-down list box.

  2. Right mouse click in the Custom Phase Pattern table or select the Edit menu.

  3. Right mouse click in the Custom Phase Pattern table or select the Edit menu.

  4. Select ClosedNew Items.

  5. Enter the Closednumber of steps for the pattern.

To import a phase pattern created elsewhere, use ClosedImport... It is assumed that the imported pattern is in degrees.

The figure below shows a simple example using the custom phase code modulation to generate a Barker 13 phase coded signal.

  1. Enter the Barker 13 code pattern ( 1,1,1,1,1,0,0,1,1,0,1,0,1) in degrees ( 180, 180, 180, 180, 180, 0, 0, 180, 180, 0, 180, 0, 180) in the custom phase pattern table.

  2. Select Download and Play.

  3. Save the new pattern.
